I’m Franko Nel, founder of FNel Photography, based in Pretoria, South Africa. My journey started with a passion for capturing people in a way that shows just how unique and powerful they are. That passion led me to study photography for three years at Vega School in Pretoria, where I developed both the technical skills and creative eye that define my work today.
My mission in life is simple: to create amazing photos that reveal the true individuality of each person I photograph. After most shoots, my models and clients ask me the same question: “Is that really me in the photo?” My answer is always, “Yes, that is you — your confidence, your beauty, your story.” That expression of surprise and joy is exactly why I provide this kind of photography service.I specialize in studio and lifestyle photography, covering a wide range of concepts, including:
With my Canon 5D Mark III and a variety of lenses, props, and backdrops, I combine careful planning with creative improvisation. Sometimes I design shoots in detail, and other times I simply experiment with light and setups — letting unexpected magic happen.Alongside client work, I continue to challenge myself in the photography community by joining international photo contests such as 500px, Viewbug, Gurushot, Photocrowd, the 35th Awards, and Pulsepx.
These platforms push me to keep evolving and refine my style as both an artist and professional. For me, photography isn’t just about taking pictures — it’s about celebrating individuality, telling real stories, and transforming fleeting moments into timeless art.
